This favorite fall flower is a chrysanthemum. Look for them in yards and gardens. Enjoy!
Happy October. Fall is here and the weather is cooler. It is so nice to feel the gentle breezes and enjoy cooler temperatures.
Your children are awesome! They are so eager to learn. Here are a few general ideas we work on every day:
Listening. Talk to your children in English and in your home language. It is very important for your child to listen, speak, read, and write in English. We also believe it is very wonderful and important to remember and use your home language.
Speaking. Ask your child to tell you about our English Language lesson for the day (in English).
Reading. Is your student reading library books on their current reading level? Ask them to show your their Accelerated Reader book. Most teachers require students to read at least 1 a week and take a short computer quiz. I am so glad to let children borrow my classroom books, too. They are very responsible and return them.
Writing. Find reasons for your child to write at home. Make a grocery list. Write or keyboard a thank you note. Show you their completed homework everyday. Check for reasonable answers. Look for left out words, missing punctuation, capital letters, and wrong word choice. They can find their own errors. Praise them when they do! Your kids are just amazing!!
